Merrill Landwehr is the senior member of the firm. Upon graduation from Loyola University Law School, he was employed by the United States Justice Department in Washington, D.C. He then served two years of active duty in the Judge Advocate General's Corp of the United States Army. Upon his return to civilian life, he was employed by, and become a partner at, the law firm of Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrere and Denegre. In 1970 he left Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrere and Denegre to start his own private law practice which he has owned and operated since that time.
Additionally, he taught Bankruptcy Law at the Tulane University School of Law from 1977 through 1981.
